Ever wondered what makes a really good wood fire?

This autumn learn everything you need to know to build good, sustainable, safe and efficient wood fires that will warm your cockles and impress your friends.

A great course for anyone with a wood burning stove especially if you'd like to reduce your spend on wood.

You'll learn the history of fire and stoves, the science of combustion and how this crucial knowledge will help you burn a better wood fire. You'll also find out about safety and regulation, installation and maintenance of stoves as well as the practical use of your woodburner for maximum heat and minimum pollution.

You'll visit the CAT wood to discover the best wood to use, get tips on buying and storing your wood as well as growing your own.

This course is a wonderful day out and suitable for adults and children over 12 years if accompanied by a responsible adult.

Things you need to know:-

Due to the nature of this course some practical work will be done outside. We strongly advise you to bring waterproof clothing and good walking boots are recommended.
