Course details

This course will teach you how, with minimal previous knowledge or experience, to install solid fuel stoves in to homes.

Your tutor's Finn and Nick who run their own stove installation company will guide you through a practical and straight forward 2 days in CAT’s purpose built training rooms.

CAT is a fully independent training centre so you’ll get the opportunity to understand and work with a range of stoves giving you the breadth of experience and knowledge few other training providers in the UK can provide.

By the end of the course you will have experience of installing at least 3 stoves in a safe and supervised environment before carrying out installations in someone’s home.

It is not possible to cover all situations but your experienced tutor will have time to answer questions and discuss scenarios both during lessons and through breaks and meal times too.

The course will also include key information on the regulations, the testing of the flues and on the health and safety implications of the work.

This course, and the installations carried out on it, may be used to form part of your application to attend the HETAS H003DS dry installers course and can be taken after the H003DS if booked together.

PSE Requirements - The delegate will be required to bring safety shoes or boots.

B&B, half board and full board available on-site in our sustainability award winning accommodation. Shared twin en-suite rooms available from £40/night B&B.More details are available here. Call us on 01654 704 966 to book.

Things you need to know

Please note, this is not a HETAS course, it is a course to help you meet the HETAS pre-requisites for H003 if you don’t already have the skills or qualifications.

Due to the nature of this course some practical work will be done outside. We strongly advise you to bring waterproof clothing and steel toe-cap boots are mandatory.

You must be over the age of 18 years on the day this course starts.
