This one day course will cover the materials and techniques you need to know in order to build your own earth oven using cob.
Experience each stage of construction of an oven including mixing the clay and sand, laying the base out and constructing a mold/former.
At the end of the day you will have completed the first layers of the oven and maybe the second outer layer. Will be able to see how to use a finished oven on-site as you cook your own pizzas!
The course is for Individuals and community groups, especially those involved with schools, churches, village halls, scouts, guides and youth groups.
The course tutor is Bex Syrett. Bex has been fascinated by earth ovens since she saw one in use at a festival. Since learning how to build one herself, she has taught many other people how to do the same. Bex enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for making clay ovens and baking delicious food in them. Her experience of using one regularly, seeing how they work in a variety of settings and under a variety of conditions, Bex is able to share her knowledge with people who are keen to learn.
